500 Rupees Note Holders! Government gives big update on 500 rupee note, check immediately

Rs 500 Note Latest Update: Every day some such news goes viral on social media, which shocks as well as scares people. One such news is again going viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that the government is preparing to ban the 500 rupee note by March 2026. Now when such a big news went viral, the government itself had to come forward and tell the truth.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, a YouTube channel named Capital TV quoted sources and ran the news that by March 2026 next year, the 500 rupee note will be completely out of circulation and the government has also stopped printing new 500 rupee notes. This can once again lead to demonetization-like conditions in the country.

What is the whole truth?

Government agency PIB Fact Check fact-checked this social media claim and called it completely baseless and fake news. PIB said that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not made any such announcement and Rs 500 notes will remain in full circulation.
Increase in fake notes

Let us tell you that recently RBI has made a shocking disclosure in its annual report. RBI said that the number of fake Rs 500 notes has increased by 37.3 percent in FY25.

How many fake notes were caught

In FY25, 1.18 lakh fake notes were caught, worth about Rs 5.88 crore. Whereas, in FY24 this number was 85,711, worth Rs 4.28 crore.

Avoid rumors

PIB warned people not to believe such misinformation. Always confirm from official sources before believing or sharing any news!
