Ministry of Railways: Keeping in mind the convenience of lakhs of middle class passengers, preparations are being made by the Ministry of Railways to operate 100 Amrit Bharat trains in the coming days. A day ago, PM Modi flagged off four Amrit Bharat trains in Bihar.
Amrit Bharat Trains: The Railway Ministry is continuously working on the facilities of the passengers. The operation of semi-high speed trains is making it easier for the passengers to travel as well as taking less time in travel. The Ministry of Railways is working on a plan to start 100 modern and high-tech Amrit Bharat trains across the country under Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a future-ready rail network. These trains will provide a safe experience to middle class and economically weaker passengers.
Where will the four new trains run from?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Amrit Bharat trains from Bihar on July 18. After flagging off these trains, the number of Amrit Bharat trains running in the country has increased to seven. Earlier three Amrit Bharat trains were running, of which two were in the northern and eastern regions of Bihar. The new trains will be operated between Rajendra Nagar (Patna)-New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari-Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal), Darbhanga-Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) and Malda Town-Lucknow (Gomti Nagar).
How will Make in India get strengthened?
Amrit Bharat trains are being prepared with completely indigenous technology under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Their speed will be 130 km per hour. A senior railway official said that the purpose of these trains is to provide fast, safe and affordable rail service to middle class and poor passengers. The Railway Ministry is planning to start 100 new Amrit Bharat trains in the current year and next year i.e. 2026.
What facilities will passengers get in Amrit Bharat trains?
Amrit Bharat trains have many modern facilities. These trains have foldable snack tables, mobile holders, bottle holders, fast mobile charging ports, comfortable seats, radium-lit floor strips and airline-like lighting, which shows the way in the dark. These trains also have air spring body, which gives a comfortable travel experience in shocks. Apart from this, trains also have special toilets for the disabled, electro-pneumatic flushing system and automatic soap dispensers.
How is Amrit Bharat in terms of safety?
Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, EP-assisted brake system, sealed gangway and vacuum evacuation system have been installed in Amrit Bharat trains. Every coach of these trains running in Bihar has a talk-back unit and for the first time in non-AC coaches there is a fire detection system. These facilities further strengthen the safety of passengers. According to the railway official, 5-6 lakh middle class and economically weaker people will be able to travel every month with four new Amrit Bharat trains. The trains have been operated for comfortable and safe travel along with being economical.
