A biodiversity park will be developed in the Aravalli mountain range on about 100 acres of panchayat land of village Kasan in Gurugram district of Haryana. For this, the Gram Panchayat has passed the proposal in the Gram Sabha. On this project, the state Minister for Forest, Education and Tourism Kanwar Pal today visited the area and also visited the proposed park area.

On developing a biodiversity park in village Kasan, forest Minister Kanawarpal also witnessed the already developed biodiversity park in the municipal area near nathu pur, a village from Faridabad to Gurugram. Not only that, he also visited the Mangar Bani reserve forest area.



In a function organized by the forest department at the nearby temple complex after planting in the proposed Biodiversity Park area at village Kasan, the forest minister churned out the sarpanchs of the selected villages to increase greenery and invited suggestions from Sarpanchs. He appreciated the initiative taken by the village Kasan and said that now it is to see which more villages of the district come forward to develop orchards on their panchayat land.



He also said that the Haryana government has approved the development of orchards on panchayat land. This will not only increase the greenery in the area and improve the environment, bring up groundwater levels but also increase the income of the panchayat. Then, the Gram panchayat will not need to look at the government to get the development work done in the village. He said that about 1000 acres of land is being set up in the districts of North Haryana like Karnal, Yamunanagar, Panchkula etc.

He said that during the recent past, people assumed that planting of saplings was only of the forest department, whereas on the contrary, it was the entire society. The forest minister said that we all take the responsibility of planting, growing and caring for ourselves, the forest department will cooperate. The department can develop nurseries to provide plants, give information about plant care, but it is the responsibility of all of us to plant and grow it. Mr. Kanwar Pal said, “Make friends with the tree, you will benefit.” He also said that the makeup of the Earth is from trees. If somebody has called Kashmir heaven, he has also said that by looking at the trees and the greenery there.



Talking to media after the programme, Forest Minister Kanawarpal said that Haryana has 3 per cent reserve forest, which is targeted to be increased to 20 per cent. For this, 1.25 crore saplings will be planted in the state this year, which will be tried to keep alive. 1100 villages of the state have been selected for this plantation.

According to Gurugram’s divisional forest officer Jayakumar, herbal plants with herbs will also be installed along with other plants at the proposed Biodiversity Park at village Kasan. Earlier, in his view in the programme, Pataudi MLA Satyprakash Jaraita said that when he was elected MLA, he had come to him with a project to build a rural biodiversity park in village Kasan and he also made a written request to the forest minister in this regard, which the minister has done best for the generations to come.



Col. Anil Yadav, who came from NSG Manesar in the programme said that nsg has taken the responsibility of planting about two lakh trees in village Naurangpur and adjoining areas.



He also assured full cooperation of NSG in plantation work. Welcoming the forest minister, chief conservator of Forests, Vasvi Tyagi, who was present in the programme, said that the NSG campus has promoted greenery by planting 53000 saplings inside and outside its campus in the recent past. He also asked all Sarpanchs to cooperate in plantation and try to make the environment of the region friendly to all animals. He also said that in the time of corona epidemic, people have understood the importance of herbs, so also apply herbal plants and protect their lives.
