YELLOW LINE OF DELHI METRO AND RAPID METRO OF GURUGRAM WILL START FROM 7 SEPTEMBER

New Delhi . After the nationwide bandh imposed in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic, Delhi Metro will start running again from September 7. However, only the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro and Rapid Metro of Gurugram will be operational from September 7. The Yellow line of the metro runs from Samaypur Badli to Huda City Center in Gurugram. Two days later, the Blue and Pink line will also start operating from September 9. The Blue Line runs from Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali, while the Pink Line runs from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar.



Just a day after this, from September 10, the Red and Green Line Metro will also start running. The red line will go from Rithala to the martyr site New Bus Adda, the green line will go from Kirti Nagar or Inderlok to Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Station in Bahadurgarh.

On the same day, the violet line of the capital will also start, which will go from Kashmiri Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh). These three opening days are part of Stage-1 of the Delhi Metro being reopened. However, during this time the metro will run only for four hours in the morning. The metro will run between 7 am and 11 am and between 4 pm and 8 pm in the evening.

After the commencement of the first stage metro operations, the metro will start operating under the second stage from September 11. From that time the magenta line and gray line will also start. The magenta line runs from Janakpuri West to the Botanical Garden and the gray line runs between Dwarka to Najafgarh.



But unlike Phase-1, both these lines will run for six hours in the morning (7 am to 1 pm) and evening (4 pm to 10 pm). Meanwhile from this day onwards, Stage-1 lines will also start running for 12 hours a day.

The next day, apart from Stage-1 and 2 lines under Stage-3, the Airport Express line running from New Delhi to Dwarka Sector 21 will also be operational. From this day services on all lines will be available throughout the day and the metro will start running from 6 am to 11 pm.



DMRC Executive Director (Corporate Communications) Anuj Dayal said that stations falling in the Metro Containment Zone will not stop and such stations will remain closed to the public. He warned that if social distance is not followed by the passengers, the metro will not be stopped at such stations also. (IANS)
