Gurugram: Due to the continuous heavy rains, a large part of Gurugram in Uttar Pradesh has been flooded and traffic has come to a standstill. Meanwhile, the authorities have allowed the employees of corporate offices to work from home.
Similarly, orders have been issued for a holiday in schools and instructions have been given to conduct classes only through online classes.
Work from home orders due to heavy rain
In fact, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an orange alert on Tuesday, warning of heavy to very heavy rains. The alert said, “In view of the forecast, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to direct their employees to work from home and all schools in the district are advised to conduct online classes on 02-09-2025.”
Let us tell you that, by Monday evening, Gurugram had received more than 100 mm of rain. Due to this, there is a flood-like situation in many areas and the city’s traffic is jammed. Due to these reasons, passengers were stranded on National Highway-48 for hours. In view of this adverse situation, Police Commissioner Vikas Arora and Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar inspected NH-48 and Sohna Road late on Monday night.
Travel advisory issued for flights
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Delhi, especially on the Delhi-Gurugram border, have led to traffic jams and increased the possibility of flooding along the Yamuna river. Waterlogging and low visibility have also disrupted air traffic in the capital, prompting airlines to issue travel advisories. In view of the flood situation, following the advice of the Central Water Commission (CWC), authorities in Delhi have ordered the closure of traffic and public movement on the Loha Pul over the Yamuna river from 5 pm on Tuesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain or thundershowers in Delhi from September 2 to 4. Moderate rain is expected at some places on Tuesday, with maximum temperatures ranging from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures between 21 to 23 degrees Celsius, which is about 3-5 degrees Celsius below normal.
Winds are expected to be 15-20 kmph in the morning, less than 22 kmph in the afternoon and less than 16 kmph by evening. Light rain is expected on September 3, maximum temperature will be between 32-34 degree Celsius and minimum temperature will be between 22-24 degree Celsius.
