The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for August 30, 2025, warning of heavy rains and floods in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and many other states.

The effect of monsoon is increasing day by day in these states, due to which people are facing trouble. Flood situation has occurred in many places and the Meteorological Department has advised people to stay safe.

Heavy rain warning in Delhi

Heavy rain on Friday morning in Delhi had increased the troubles of the people. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain on Saturday, 30 August as well. Yellow alert has been issued especially in areas like South-East Delhi, Central Delhi, Shahdara and East Delhi. There is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in the rest of Delhi, but there is no need for any special alert there. If you are in Delhi, do not forget to carry an umbrella with you.

Flood situation in Uttar Pradesh, many districts affected

The effect of monsoon is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas of western UP and eastern UP on August 30. Meanwhile, heavy rains have caused floods in 17 districts. Among these, districts like Ballia, Bahraich, Badaun, Kanpur Nagar, Mirzapur, Gonda, and Varanasi are prominent, where the effect of floods is most visible.

Lightning and torrential rain in Jharkhand and Bihar

Heavy rain is also expected in Bihar on August 30. Heavy rain is expected especially in areas like West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj and Bhagalpur. Along with this, warning of lightning and thunder has also been issued. People should be fully alert before going out of the house in these areas. Heavy rain alert has been issued in many areas of Jharkhand. Heavy rain is expected in districts like Ranchi, Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, Gumla and Simdega. During this time, there is a danger of waterlogging and road closures, due to which people may face trouble in traveling.

Heavy rain in Uttarakhand, appeal to stay safe

Heavy rain warning has been issued in Uttarakhand on August 30. Areas like Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar may receive torrential rains. Possibility of landslides has also been expressed in these areas. People should avoid travelling in these areas and stay in safe places.

Heavy rain warning in Madhya Pradesh

Heavy rains may occur in many areas of Madhya Pradesh on August 30. Heavy rains may be accompanied by strong winds in districts like Dhar, Khargone, Betul, Khandwa and Hoshangabad. People have been appealed to remain alert. Waterlogging and traffic disruption may occur due to rain.

Rain wreaks havoc in Rajasthan too

Heavy rain alert has been issued in Rajasthan as well. Districts like Banswara, Udaipur, Pratapgarh and Sirohi may receive torrential rains. Due to this rain, many roads may get submerged and there is also a danger of landslides in other places. In the last few days, 91 people have died in rain-related accidents, which has made the situation even more serious.

Rain alert in Gujarat and Maharashtra

Rain alert has been issued for the next 7 days in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Heavy rains in Ahmedabad and its surrounding areas may affect life. There is a possibility of rain in other districts as well, due to which people have been advised to remain alert.

Advice to stay safe

The Meteorological Department has appealed to people in all the affected areas to stay safe. People have been asked to avoid travelling due to the possibility of floods and landslides. Also, there is a possibility of falling of electric poles, waterlogging and road closures due to rain, so it is important to be cautious before walking on the road.
