Vivo X300 Pro Review: Vivo’s X series has played a key role in the brand’s strong foothold in India. The newest addition to the series, the Vivo X300 Pro, builds on the legacy of the Vivo X200 Pro and elevates the camera experience to the level the series is known for. No other phone can match its camera.

Launched alongside the base variant, the Vivo X300 Pro uses a MediaTek processor and the new OriginOS with better customisation and cross-device connectivity, made possible with the help of AI.

The Vivo X300 Pro competes with Oppo’s Find X9 Pro, where both phones let you expand beyond the camera lens and experiment with telephoto extenders. Let’s see how the Vivo X300 Pro performs.

Design and display

The Vivo X300 Pro features a similar design to the X200 Pro, with a large, round camera dial and T* coating for all three lenses, along with ZEISS branding. With a large 6.78-inch display, it’s large and weighs 226 grams. However, the protruding camera module contributes more weight to the top, making it feel a bit heavy during prolonged use. The SIM slot, speaker grille, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port are located at the bottom. The volume and power buttons on the right frame are made of aluminum alloy. The phone has a strong grip, and the back panel is fingerprint-free. The quick buttons on the left can be customized for camera, ring, and silent, among other functions. The phone is dust and water resistant with IP68 and IP69 ratings, but avoid using it in deep water or saltwater.

The Vivo X300 Pro features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED flat display, which makes the screen appear large and beautiful. Its ultra-thin bezels make it feel like an even larger display. The 120Hz refresh rate makes watching videos and scrolling a smooth experience. This Dolby Vision-supported display lowers the brightness to 1Hz in the dark to save battery. The display’s brightness goes up to 4,500 nits, making it easily visible even in bright sunlight. The pixel density of 452 ppi makes the display extremely sharp and attractive.

The Vivo X300 Pro uses the same processor as the X300, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This 3nm processor performed quite well during my usage. I used the phone mostly for taking photos and watching videos, and its performance remained fast and smooth throughout. Notably, there were no overheating issues. However, when capturing 200MP RAW photos, they took a few seconds to process, which is normal. The phone features 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, which makes the camera and other tasks run very quickly and smoothly. The 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage is also quite large, allowing you to store a lot of photos, videos, and files.

Camera

The Vivo X300 Pro is a powerful camera phone that can rival DSLR cameras with the telephoto extender. Even without the extender, it’s hard to beat for any Android or Apple phone in 2025.

The phone features three ZEISS-tuned lenses: a 50MP main Sony Lyt 828 lens with a CIPA 5.5 rating, a 50MP ultrawide JN1 lens, and a 200MP 3.5x telephoto HPB lens with a CIPA 5.5 rating. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera, up from 32MP previously.

The main camera captures excellent photos in any situation. It doesn’t lose any detail and maintains color tone and temperature as you see them with your eyes. The natural feel of the photos is highly commendable.

Most importantly, the main lens doesn’t darken or over-process colors. If you need AI assistance, there are different modes available to customize the image to your liking. Its CIPA 5.5 rating suggests excellent stabilization, and it certainly does. You can easily capture good photos of moving subjects. The ultrawide sensor also captures detail very well. Even in large photos, edges appear clear and sharp, and there’s no blur or stretching. It easily matches the other two cameras and delivers excellent results.

The X300 Pro’s most notable camera is its 200MP telephoto camera. And it’s amazing! I’ve been reviewing phones for the past 10 years, and I’ve never encountered a phone with such professional photography capabilities. It lets you capture both long-range and deep-field images without compromise. The output is simply magical.

The 3.5x optical zoom delivers stunning portraits that you can crop and re-crop to your liking. Edge detection in portraits is clear, and skin tones look natural, no matter what focal length you shoot at. The macro mode up to 15cm provides sharp, close-up images. With a CIPA 5.5 rating, this periscope lens offers excellent stability, producing clear images even in motion. It’s also great for wildlife photography or capturing moving birds and animals. I’ve personally captured some impressive photos of moving birds and animals with it.

Battery

Vivo has used a 6,510 mAh battery and bundled it with a 90W fast charger. It also supports 40W wireless charging. The phone’s battery works well with its hardware, providing plenty of time to get out and explore the world. If you use it extensively for shooting and recording, it easily lasts a full day. With normal use, it lasts up to two days. Fortunately, it doesn’t heat up. Charging takes about 40-45 minutes using 90W charging. 40W wireless charging also offers the added benefit.

Verdict

The Vivo X300 Pro is a camera phone that deserves praise and attention. It’s designed for both amateur and professional photography enthusiasts. The X300 Pro captivates with its range and capabilities. The 200MP telephoto lens works wonders with the telephoto extender. The phone features a bright and powerful display, a classic design that matches the camera’s aperture, and a long-lasting battery. Its processor helps deliver excellent performance in AI and RAW photography. The new OriginOS 6 makes it easy and convenient to use.

The Vivo X300 Pro is priced at ₹1,09,999 in India. It competes with the Oppo Find X9 Pro, but surpasses it in camera performance. If you’re upgrading from the X200 Pro, this new phone has a lot to offer, and for everyone else, the X300 Pro is simply outstanding.
