ICC ODI Ranking: Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy (Varun Chakravarthy ICC No.1 T20I Bowler) has achieved the number-1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings for the first time. He became the third Indian bowler after Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi to do so.
On the other hand, star Indian top-order batsman Smriti Mandhana has regained her number-1 position in the ICC Women’s ODI Batsmen’s Rankings. 34-year-old Varun got this reward due to his recent performance. Varun is also seen performing brilliantly for India in the Asia Cup 2025.
“India spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been rewarded for his consistent performances in 2025 by becoming the number one bowler in the ICC Men’s T20 International Player Rankings,” the ICC said in a statement. Chakravarthy took 1 for 4 against UAE and 1 for 24 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

Kuldeep and Bumrah also benefit
According to media reports, only two Indian bowlers have reached the top of the T20 International bowling rankings before Chakravarthy. These include Bumrah and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Now, Varun Chakravarthy has also joined this prestigious list. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has jumped 16 places to 23rd, while Axar Patel has moved up one place to 12th among bowlers. Bumrah has climbed four places to 40th.
Smriti Mandhana shines among women
Mandhana has retained her top spot in the latest ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. Mandhana first achieved the No. 1 ranking for ODI batsmen in 2019 and has now achieved it for the second time in 2025. Richa Ghosh has moved up three places to 36th. Pratika Rawal has jumped four places to 42nd. Harleen Deol has gained five places to 43rd.
