Vande Bharat Train: The 16 coach Vande Bharat train will run on Gorakhpur-Prayagraj route from June 8, for which the railway administration has given permission. Earlier, a train with 8 coaches used to run. Now this new rake will also have two executive coaches. This change will make the journey of Gorakhpur Ayodhya Lucknow and Prayagraj more convenient for the passengers. The railway has taken this decision due to the continuously increasing number of passengers.
Vande Bharat Train: The journey of Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow-Prayagraj will be more convenient. The entire rake of the semi high speed train number 22549/22550 running from Gorakhpur Junction will be changed. Now from June 8, a new 16 coach train will run in place of the eight coach Vande Bharat.
After the speed trial, the railway administration has given permission to run the Vande Bharat train with the new rake. This train’s rake will have general chair cars along with two executives. The 16 coach Vande Bharat train rake that reached Gorakhpur from Shakur Basti of Northern Railway had a speed trial between Gorakhpur and Nautanwa on June 1.
The train was tested by running it at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. After the test was successful, the mechanical department has issued a fitness certificate to operate the new rake. After this, the operations department has also fixed the date for running the train. However, only the rake of the train will change.
The train will run on the basis of pre-determined time, route and stoppage. With the addition of a 16 coach rake in Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat, the eight coach rake will become empty.
Preparations are in full swing to run Vande Bharat train on Gorakhpur-Patna route as well
It is believed that the empty rake of the eight coach Vande Bharat will be run between Gorakhpur and Patna. This train will also be announced soon. This train is to be run on the Gorakhpur-Bettiah-Narkatiyaganj-Muzaffarpur-Patna railway line, which will leave from Gorakhpur at six in the morning and return by nine and a half o’clock in the night. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who visited Gorakhpur and Bettiah, had announced the running of a new Vande Bharat train from Gorakhpur to Patna.
Vande Bharat consists of eight and 16 coaches
This fully air-conditioned train, built with indigenous technology, consists of eight and 16 coaches. Only the eight-coach Vande Bharat train was run from Gorakhpur. On July 7, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off this first train from Gorakhpur Junction. Initially, this train used to run to Lucknow via Ayodhya.
When the demand of passengers increased, its route was extended to Prayagraj. In the coming days, only Vande Bharat trains will be run on almost all the major routes of Northeast Railway including the headquarters Gorakhpur. Apart from the sleeper Vande Bharat between Gorakhpur to Delhi and Agra, there is a proposal to run a total of 17 trains including seven Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat including Prayagraj via Varanasi.
Preparations to run Vande Bharat on Saturday now
There is a plan to run Vande Bharat on Saturday, which goes to Prayagraj via Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow. Currently, this train runs six days a week. On Saturday, the train remains stationed in Gorakhpur due to the maintenance of the rake.
Due to holiday on Saturday in many departments and colleges along with Sunday, a large number of working professionals, students and businessmen are demanding to run this train on Saturday. In view of the demand of the passengers, the railway administration is now preparing to get the maintenance of Vande Bharat done on Wednesday or Thursday instead of Saturday.
The senior officials of the railways also believe that more passengers of Vande Bharat will be available on Saturday than on Wednesday or Thursday. The concerned officials have also started brainstorming about the maintenance of Vande Bharat.
