Jammu to Srinagar Vande Bharat: There is good news for those waiting for the Vande Bharat train from Katra to Kashmir. Preparations are in full swing for the operation of the Vande Bharat Express train between Jammu and Srinagar. This will not only be the first Vande Bharat train for Kashmir, but will also be the third semi-high-speed train for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
This Vande Bharat train will be operated and maintained by the Northern Railway. However, the launch date and timing of this train has not been officially announced yet. But it is expected that this train can start by 31 March 2025.
When will the train start?
Recently, while talking to ETNOW, a senior railway official said, “Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train is likely to be launched in March, but no final decision has been taken yet. It will be confirmed by the Railway Board (RB).”
The Vande Bharat train running between Jammu and Srinagar will have a total of 8 coaches, including 01 executive class coach and 07 AC chair car coaches. The total capacity of this train will be 530 passengers, making the journey comfortable and convenient.
Is this train special in many ways?
This will be the first Vande Bharat train in the Kashmir Valley, which will give passengers a fast, safe and comfortable travel experience. This train will provide better connectivity from Kashmir to other parts of the country. With the start of the train, the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar will be reduced, which will boost tourism and business.

The Vande Bharat Express running from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar will pass through a total of 18 railway stations. These stations are –
