Railway Board Activates in Response to MP Sakshi Maharaj’s Demand My City Reporter Lucknow: Preparations are underway to run the Vande Bharat Express from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot.
The Railway Board has sent a letter to Northern Railway Headquarters requesting a feasibility report. It is expected that the Ayodhya-Chitrakoot Vande Bharat Express will be operational in January. To facilitate the travel of pilgrims to places associated with the life of Lord Shri Ram, preparations are underway to connect the Vande Bharat Express network.
As part of this initiative, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has also launched the Ramayana Yatra. Meanwhile, Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj has sent a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav requesting the Vande Bharat Express to run from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot.
In response, the Railway Board has written to Northern Railway Headquarters, requesting a feasibility report for running the Vande Bharat Express from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot via Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, and Hamirpur. The Northern Railway Lucknow Division administration plans to finalize the route, timetable, and other details for this Vande Bharat train by the end of this month.
Northern Railway will receive the Vande Bharat train in January, and the Ayodhya-Chitrakoot Vande Bharat train will be operational. According to a Railway Board official, preparations are underway to run this train in January. At the request of MP Sakshi Maharaj, the Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express and Patna-Kota Express have already been given a stop at Unnao station.
