UPI allows users to make payments even without internet. This makes it easy for users to make transactions when their phone runs out of data or faces network issues or the bank server is down.
Payments through UPI can be made even without internet. Under the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI users are allowed to make payments even without internet. This makes it easy for users to make transactions when their phone runs out of data or faces network issues or the bank server is down. In such cases, you can make offline UPI payments using the USSD service. Here is the step-by-step process for offline payments:
How to make offline payments using UPI?
Before making offline payments using UPI without internet, make sure that your mobile number is linked to your bank account. This can be done by visiting a bank branch or online through the bank’s app or website. Simply enter your mobile number and set a UPI PIN. Now, follow the instructions below for offline UPI payments.
Step 1: Dial *99# on your mobile phone.
Step 2: A menu will open, displaying various UPI-related services such as send money, receive money, check balance, etc.
Step 3: Now, click on the Send Money option on your mobile and select a payment option. These methods include UPI using your mobile number, UPI ID, or directly in your bank using your account number and IFSC code.
Step 4: After selecting your payment method, add the required details and the amount you want to send.
Step 5: Now you will be asked to enter your UPI PIN to complete the payment process.
