Chhath Puja is currently underway in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is being celebrated with great pomp in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In view of the Chhath festival, a holiday has been declared in Prayagraj district on Tuesday, October 28.
Schools from class 1 to 12 will remain closed tomorrow. UP Board, CBSE, ICSE and Sanskrit secondary schools as well as council schools will also remain closed. DIOS PN Singh has issued these orders on the directions of District Magistrate Manish Verma. Earlier, local holidays have already been declared in many districts including Lucknow and Gorakhpur.
Let us tell you that earlier the DM of Lucknow had also issued an order in this regard. According to the order, all government, semi-government offices, schools and colleges will remain closed on October 28. Meanwhile, in Gorakhpur, the administration had issued a new order changing the date of the local holiday.
Earlier, a holiday was declared on October 29 but then DM Deepak Meena issued a new order stating that the local holiday in the district will be on October 28 instead of October 29. In the earlier order, a holiday was declared on October 29 which has now been cancelled. Considering the importance of sunrise worship, they have cancelled the holiday on October 29 and issued a local holiday order on October 28 a day earlier.
