Ration Card eKYC in UP: Families who have not completed the e-KYC process can do so by September 30. After September 30, the names of ration card holders without e-KYC may be deleted.

Ration Card eKYC: Significant news has emerged for millions of families in Uttar Pradesh who benefit from government rations. Nearly 3.43 lakh ration card units in Lakhimpur Kheri district have not yet completed their e-KYC process, resulting in their September rations being withheld. However, the Uttar Pradesh government has once again provided relief and given these families a final chance.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, families who have not yet completed the e-KYC process can do so by September 30th. If ration card holders still fail to complete the e-KYC process by September 30th, their names will be removed from the list and will not be added back. However, those who complete their e-KYC will be reissued their ration cards starting in October.

88% of beneficiaries have completed e-KYC

Each member associated with a ration card must complete their e-KYC. In Lakhimpur Kheri district, 88.2 percent of ration card holders have completed their e-KYC, and 91.44 percent of headmen have also completed their e-KYC. Despite this, approximately 343,072 units are still pending. Officials have clearly stated that those who have not yet completed their e-KYC should immediately visit their nearest ration shop and complete the process, ensuring they do not face any problems receiving rations in October. The Food and Civil Supplies Department has already issued instructions regarding e-KYC, stating that families whose e-KYC is incomplete will not receive rations in September.

Children have been exempted from e-KYC.

In addition to Lakhimpur, several other districts in Uttar Pradesh have also issued warnings to ration card holders for incomplete e-KYC. However, children have been exempted from this warning. According to officials, children under the age of 5 are exempt from e-KYC, while all other members must update their information. Regarding e-KYC, departments believe this step is being taken to make ration distribution transparent and weed out ineligible individuals. If

e-KYC is not completed by November, cards will be revoked.

In some districts of Uttar Pradesh, residents have been warned that if e-KYC is not completed by November, their ration cards will be automatically revoked and families will be permanently excluded from the ration distribution list. A village-to-village campaign is underway in Uttar Pradesh to raise awareness. The department clearly states that if beneficiaries do not complete the process in time, there will be no further hearings.
