Heavy rain warning has been issued in many districts of UP in the next 3 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a warning has been issued for heavy rain with strong winds, thunder and lightning in Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bareilly, Pilibhit. Along with this, there is also a possibility of lightning. At the same time, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with sudden strong winds in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Hardoi, Sitapur, Bahraich, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Rampur, Badaun, Sambhal, Amroha, Moradabad, Meerut, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur districts. There is also an alert of lightning in these districts.

Let us tell you that at present Ballia, Bahraich, Badaun, Chandauli, Kanpur Nagar, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Kasganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Mirzapur, Muzaffarnagar, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Prayagraj and Varanasi are the flood affected districts in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the ministers in charge to immediately take charge of the floods in their respective districts.

17 districts of the state are in the grip of floods due to continuous torrential rains. He has said that in view of the seriousness of the situation, they should get involved in relief work. He also asked all the public representatives to participate in this work with great enthusiasm and take care of every need of the affected people.

The Chief Minister has instructed that no one should be troubled by the flood problem, the affected people should be shifted to a safe place and adequate arrangements should be made for the cattle as well. About two and a half lakh people and 30 thousand cattle have been shifted to safe places.

According to the Relief Commissioner’s Office, 37 tehsils and 688 villages of the state are affected by the flood. Out of these, 2,45,980 people and 30,030 cattle have been shifted to safe places. A total of 27061 hectares of area has been affected by the flood. Relief material is being delivered with the help of 548 boats and motorboats in the relief work. On Wednesday, 1,904 food packets and 11,350 lunch packets were distributed.
