The long wait for thousands of aspiring teachers in Uttar Pradesh is over. The Examination Regulatory Authority, Prayagraj, has declared the results for the Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) Semester 1 and 3. The results, announced by Secretary Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, cover multiple batches ranging from 2017 to the most recent 2024 session.
With over 2.42 lakh candidates qualifying, the focus now shifts to certificate distribution and the upcoming recruitment cycles for primary teaching positions in the state.

Batch-Wise Result Highlights
The 2023 and 2024 batches dominated the numbers in this examination cycle.
-
2023 Batch: A combined total of 1,44,785 candidates passed across the 1st and 3rd semesters.
-
2024 Batch: 78,125 candidates successfully cleared their 1st-semester debut.
-
Legacy Batches: Results were also cleared for small numbers of candidates from the 2017, 2018, and 2019 batches, who were likely clearing backlogs or special instances.

Objections and Re-examination
The department has established a window for candidates who are dissatisfied with their marks.
-
Grievances: Online applications for result objections must be submitted within the timeframe prescribed by the Authority.
-
Failed Candidates: The 1.76 lakh candidates who did not qualify will be eligible to sit for the exams again in the next cycle, likely to be announced in the coming months.
Reality Check
The pass percentage of 58% indicates a rigorous evaluation process. Still, the fact that over 1.76 lakh candidates failed suggests that many students are struggling with the revamped curriculum or stricter marking standards implemented to ensure “transparency and accuracy.” Therefore, while the high number of passes is a boost for the teaching workforce, the failure rate highlights a significant gap in candidate preparation.
The Loopholes
The Authority mentioned that results for the “2017 batch (3rd Semester)” only included 1 candidate. In fact, this is a “Single-Candidate Loophole”—it often occurs when a single student has a pending court case or a withheld result from years ago that is finally cleared. Therefore, the “Batch-Wise” data can sometimes be misleading regarding the actual active student strength. Still, the “Evaluation Loophole”—where strict supervision is promised—is often a response to previous years’ allegations of paper leaks and mass copying.

What This Means for You
If you have passed, download your digital copy immediately. First, realize that official websites often crash or become slow due to high traffic in the first 48 hours. Then, if you are from the 2023 batch, understand that this result is a prerequisite for appearing in the UPTET (UP Teacher Eligibility Test) scheduled for later this year.
Finally, understand that certificate distribution happens at the respective training institutes (DIETs). You should contact your local DIET in early March to collect your physical mark sheet. Before applying for any teaching jobs, ensure your Aadhar and Enrollment details on the certificate match your official government IDs to avoid verification issues later.
What’s Next
The Examination Regulatory Authority will soon release the scrutiny application dates for those who wish to challenge their marks. Then, the schedule for the Semester 2 and 4 examinations is expected to be announced by mid-March 2026. Finally, look for the rollout of a new digital locker facility where DElEd certificates will be automatically synced for easier job applications.
