UP Board Exams 2026: The UP Board has announced changes to the 10th and 12th grade board exam schedule and released a revised schedule. The changes to some exam dates were affecting a significant number of students, forcing the board to take this decision. Find out what changes have been made to the exam schedule.
The Board of Secondary Education recently announced the board exam schedule for class 10th and 12th students on November 5. But after a large number of students faced problems with the dates of some exams, the board has announced changes in it. Along with this, the board has also released the revised exam schedule. Let us tell you, the change in the exam schedule was made on Tuesday. The new schedule will provide relief to many students. All exams will be held between February 18, 2026, and March 12, 2026. Admit cards of the students will be given by the class teacher or principal in the school.
One day there were English and Sanskrit exams.
The previously released board exam schedule had scheduled the English and Sanskrit exams for intermediate classes on the same day, in the morning and evening shifts. According to the new schedule, the English exam will be held in the second shift on February 20th, as scheduled, but the Sanskrit exam will now be held in the second shift on March 12th instead of February 20th. If both exams were held on the same day, approximately 18,000 students would have to take the exams in both shifts.
Hindi paper will be held on February 18 in both shifts.
The Hindi exams for high school and intermediate will no longer be held in both shifts on February 18. To reduce the number of exam centers, the board has decided to conduct the high school Hindi and elementary Hindi exams in the first shift on February 18, and the intermediate General Hindi and Hindi subject exams in the second shift on February 18.
Hindi paper shift
Previously, the Hindi and General Hindi papers for 10th and 12th grades were held in the same shift. This would have required over 4.3 million students to take the exam simultaneously. This could have posed a significant problem from a management perspective. Therefore, a change was made. Now, the High School Hindi paper will be held in the morning shift on February 18th, while the Intermediate Hindi paper will be held in the second shift. The 12th Sanskrit paper will be held in the second shift on March 12th.
Board exams in two shifts
The 10th-12th grade keyboard exams will be conducted in two shifts: the first shift will be from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM, and the second shift will be from 2 PM to 5:15 PM.
More than 52 lakh students will appear for the exam
A total of 5,230,297 students are registered for the UP Board 10th and 12th grade board exams. Of these, 2,750,945 are in Class 10, including 1,438,683 boys and 1,312,263 girls. Meanwhile, 2,479,352 students have registered for Class 12, including 1,303,012 boys and 1,176,340 girls.
