Uber announced that its drivers will be able to see the last destination of a passenger before accepting a ride. With this, he will be able to decide whether he wants to go on a ride or not before the final booking is done.

New Delhi. People using cab service must have faced many problems while booking a ride at some point of time. The problem with this is that at the time of booking, the driver calls and asks for the destination location, if the destination is not according to him, then he asks to cancel the ride or cancels the ride himself. However, now this problem in Uber is going to end soon.

Uber announced that its drivers will be able to see the last destination of a passenger before accepting a ride. With this, he will be able to decide whether he wants to go on a ride or not before the final booking is done. The move comes at a time when Uber is cutting down on cancellations after booking a trip.

Because of this the company took the decision

The company has taken this decision based on the feedback received from the National Driver Advisory Council. This feedback survey was launched in March 2022 to facilitate two-way communication between Uber and its drivers in six metro cities. The ride-hailing service provider said in a statement that the move will increase transparency and eliminate frustration for riders and drivers. “Drivers on the Uber platform across India will now be able to check trip destinations before deciding whether to accept a ride,” the statement added.

Unconditional facility started in all cities

Before starting this program, Uber did a pilot project in May this year. The company also said that its pilot project has yielded encouraging results in reduction of cancellations. The ride-hailing firm said in its statement, “Uber has decided to do away with the travel acceptance limit and introduce unconditional facility in all cities. Uber will continue to monitor feedback from drivers and riders and make changes if necessary.
