Railways News: The railways are once again facing significant difficulties due to fog during the winter season. All claims of maintaining normal train operations amid the fog have once again fallen flat.
The railways have decided to cancel several long-distance express trains for three months. These include 16 trains passing through Saharanpur.
For the past several years, the Railways has consistently claimed that it will ensure better train operations during foggy weather. To this end, numerous safety systems and monitoring technologies have been implemented. However, despite spending crores of rupees, train cancellations continue during cold and foggy weather, causing inconvenience to passengers.
Trains cancelled from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026
This year too, the Railways has announced the cancellation of several trains from December 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026. This includes the Jalandhar-Delhi Superfast Express, a major train on the Saharanpur-Delhi route, which will remain suspended until March 1, 2026. The cancellation of these trains during the winter will increase the difficulties of passengers, especially those who have already booked tickets.
Senior Superintendent of Saharanpur Station, A.K. Tyagi, stated that due to fog, several trains have been temporarily suspended. The Railways has stated that alternative arrangements will be made for the convenience of passengers, so that they do not face any inconvenience during their journey.
These trains will remain cancelled for three months.
