It’s Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and if you’ve been eyeing a midsize SUV but didn’t want to spring for the top-of-the-line V trim just for a bit of “flash,” Toyota just gave you an out. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has just officially crossed the 2,00,000 sales milestone in India, and to celebrate, they’ve launched a new “Tech Package.”

The thing is, it’s not a new variant. It’s a curated bundle of dealer-installed “Genuine Accessories.” Or nothing.

The Hyryder Tech Package: Field Notes

It’s an ongoing situation where buyers are prioritizing “feel-good” tech over raw horsepower. Here’s the ground reality of the new ₹29,499 upgrade:

  • The HUD for Everyone: Previously, the Head-Up Display was locked behind the premium V trims. Now, you can slap it onto the base E or S variants. It projects your speed and turn-by-turn nav right on the glass. Those too.

  • The “Peace of Mind” Camera: It finally includes a front dashcam as a factory-approved accessory. Let’s be real—most Indian drivers were already getting these from Karol Bagh. This way, you don’t mess with the warranty.

  • Vibe Check: You get customizable ambient lighting. It’s basically just a strip in the footwells and dash, but it makes the cabin feel less like a commuter car and more like a lounge at night. The thing is, for V-variant owners, this package mostly just adds the dashcam since they already have the other two.

  • No Engine Drama: Under the hood, it’s the same story. You’ve still got the Strong Hybrid (27.97 km/l), the Neo Drive (Mild Hybrid), and the CNG options. And here’s the kicker—the AWD petrol is still sitting there for the three people who actually take their Hyryder off-road.

Toyota Hyryder: Updated Pricing (Jan 28, 2026)

Variant CategoryStarting Price (Ex-Showroom)With Tech Package
Base Petrol (E)₹11.24 Lakh*₹11.53 Lakh
CNG Variants₹13.62 Lakh₹13.91 Lakh
AWD Petrol₹18.68 Lakh₹18.97 Lakh
Top Hybrid (V)₹19.76 Lakh₹20.05 Lakh

And Here’s the Kicker…

The timing is interesting. This news comes just as the 2026 Kia Seltos and the Tata Sierra are gaining massive traction in the same segment. The thing is, by offering this as a package across all 13 variants, Toyota is basically trying to upsell the budget-conscious buyer who wants the “look” of a high-tech car without the ₹20 lakh price tag. Those too.

One side comment—Toyota recently had a minor recall for about 11,500 units over a fuel gauge glitch, so if you’re taking your car in for the Tech Package, it’s worth asking the dealer to check your VIN. It’s an ongoing situation where software is becoming just as important as the steel. Or nothing.
