Weather Alert: According to the Meteorological Department, a new low pressure area may form in the Bay of Bengal around August 25. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in eastern India (Odisha, West Bengal and surrounding areas) from August 24.
Also, heavy rains are also expected in Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra in the next 7 days. Very heavy rains may occur in Konkan on 25 and 26 August. Overall, light to moderate rains are expected in many parts of this entire region in the next 7 days.
Apart from Bihar-Jharkhand, it will rain here too
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar in the next 7 days. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Vidarbha on 26 and 27 August. Heavy rains may occur at different places in Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal between 23 and 26 August. Especially, heavy rains are also expected in Jharkhand and Bihar on 23 August .
Apart from Punjab and Haryana, it will rain here too
Heavy rains may occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana between 23 and 26 August. Rains may continue in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan for the next 6-7 days. Heavy rains are expected in different parts of Uttar Pradesh between 23 and 25 August. At the same time, heavy rains may also occur in eastern Rajasthan from 23 to 24 August. Along with this, light to moderate rains with thunderstorms are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan in the next 7 days.
Heavy rains likely in Karnataka and Kerala
Heavy rains are expected in coastal and northern interior Karnataka and parts of Kerala on 26 and 27 August. At the same time, there may be rain at some places in coastal Andhra Pradesh on 25 and 26 August. Apart from this, light to moderate rains are likely at many places with thunderstorms and lightning in Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana in the next 5 days.
Heavy rain in Rajasthan
Due to the activity of southwest monsoon in Rajasthan, many areas got submerged due to heavy rains in Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Kota and Bhilwara districts. The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for heavy rains in four southern districts on Friday as well. The Meteorological Center has also issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rains in Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara and Pratapgarh districts.
