Tata AIG Insurance has discontinued the cashless claim settlement service at Max Hospitals, becoming the third insurance company to discontinue this service with Max Hospitals.

Star Health and Niva Bupa had previously discontinued this service at these hospitals. Meanwhile, Care Health Insurance has suspended the cashless claim settlement service at Max Hospitals in Delhi-NCR.

Did Max say anything?

While Star Health, Niva Bupa, and Tata AIG have suspended cashless services for Max Hospitals across the country, the suspension of Care Cashless claims is limited to Max Hospitals located in Delhi and the NCR. According to a Max Hospitals spokesperson, “On February 10, 2025, Max Healthcare Limited informed Care Health that cashless services will no longer be available at all hospitals in Delhi and the NCR. This decision will be effective from February 17, 2025.”

Tata AIG had suspended cashless services at Max Hospitals on September 10, 2025. Max said the insurance company had demanded a sudden reduction in tariffs.

Max accuses Tata AIG

A Max Healthcare spokesperson said in an official statement, “Max Healthcare and Tata AIG General Insurance Company met and signed a two-year tariff renewal agreement. In July 2025, Tata AIG suddenly called a meeting and proposed a reduction in the agreed tariff. They threatened to discontinue cashless services if we did not agree. When we did not agree, they suspended cashless services.”

According to sources close to Tata AIG, discussions are ongoing on this issue and a resolution is expected within a few days. Tata AIG stated in a statement that special arrangements have been made to ensure that customers are not inconvenienced. The company states, “All claims are being prioritized and resolved as quickly as possible. Our dedicated service team is carefully monitoring each case to ensure that customers are not inconvenienced.”
