Karnal, [Pawan Sharma]. Now the lack of oxygen will not kill anyone and there will be no lack of oxygen for the life support system. A system has been developed in Haryana that there will be no shortage of oxygen to treat patients and life can be saved in difficulty. This is the supplement oxygen therapy system.

In fact, the Corona crisis drew attention to developing medical facilities and especially life support system in Haryana along with the country and the world. In this situation, there was a doubt about the availability of oxygen, but now there is no lack of oxygen in Haryana. A supplemental oxygen therapy system has been developed for this, which will also provide industrial oxygen along with medical oxygen. It has been trialled at the industrial plants of Hisar and Gurugram in the state, after the success of which it will now be tried at other places

including Karnal.

Successful trial at industrial plant in Hisar and Gurugram

Huge efforts are underway to deal with the magnitude of the Corona epidemic. However, experts believe that this crisis will not stop soon. Director of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Dr. SK Sarin and other experts say that the highest level of corona virus can be seen from July to mid-August. Therefore, the Central Government has asked the states to pay close attention to making proper medical arrangements and especially on life support system.

State Drug Controller of Haryana Narinder Ahuja.

State Drug Controller (SDC) Narinder Ahuja, who is holding this important responsibility in Haryana, told Jagran that supplementary oxygen therapy is the clinic management part of Kovid-19 patients. Due to this, availability and supply of oxygen is being ensured for medical use throughout India, not just Haryana.

He said that the All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers Association had proposed to the industrial oxygen manufacturers to prepare oxygen for medical use, taking cognizance of which the Drug Controller of India DCGI insisted on developing supplemental oxygen therapy. A policy of granting manufacturing licenses to industrial institutions was formulated.

Industrial complexes at Hisar and Gurugram were selected in the state, where industrial oxygen manufacturing is possible. It will also be produced in plants in Karnal and other places. In-depth analysis found that reliance on medical oxygen alone is not justified. Industrial oxygen will also have to be used for emergencies. There is not much difference between the two. The state has now become self-sufficient on the basis of adequate availability of medical and industrial oxygen.

New protocol ready

SDC Ahuja said that the Union Health Ministry wants to ensure adequate supply of medical oxygen. All the hospitals in the state have been directed for this so that there is no interference in the treatment of patients. The Ministry of Health has also prepared a new protocol related to the operation of major sources of oxygen supply, oxygen system components and standard requirement of oxygen. Under this, the top drug regulator has asked the manufacturers of industrial oxygen to give the required approval in 24 hours.

Not compromising on the health and safety of patients

The SDC clarified that there is no compromise on the health and safety of patients throughout the process and that oxygen is being manufactured in selected plants in accordance with Indian Pharmacopoeia standards and regulations and in compliance with labeling requirements. Indeed, the equipment in its supply requires the same disinfection treatment as is given to other machinery and surfaces in the hospital, with particular caution in the use of oxygen to treat corona patients.
