Sheikh Hasina is breaking her silence from exile, and she’s not holding back. The thing is, the ousted Prime Minister just gave a blistering interview to ANI, calling the death sentence handed to her a “political assassination in judicial robes.”
Basically, she’s sitting in India while Bangladesh spirals into a fresh wave of chaos following the death of activist Sharif Osman Hadi.
Actually, Hasina claims the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus is either totally powerless or simply in denial about the violence (let’s be real, the streets of Dhaka are far from quiet).

And here’s the kicker. She’s flatly refusing to return for trial.
Specifically, Hasina argues that you can’t demand someone’s return just to face a “kangaroo tribunal.”
As a result, she has challenged Yunus to take the whole case to The Hague. Instead of a fair trial, she says her party is being hunted.
Consequently, she says she will only step foot in Bangladesh again when a “legitimate” government and an independent judiciary are back in place (those too).
[Table: Key Highlights from Sheikh Hasina’s Interview]
| Topic | Hasina’s Stance |
| Death Sentence | “Political assassination in judicial robes” |
| Interim Government | Powerless, allows extremists in the cabinet |
| February Elections | A “coronation,” not an election (without her party) |
| Ties with India | Strained by Yunus; India’s safety concerns are “justified” |
In fact, she’s sounding the alarm for India too. The thing is, she claims extremists have been given a free pass to target minorities and media houses.
Basically, she pointed to the brutal lynching of a Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, as proof that law and order has collapsed.
And then Y followed. India suspended visa operations in Chittagong. As a result, the diplomatic rift is widening every day.
Instead of a tidy wrap-up, the situation remains a powder keg. Actually, with the Awami League banned, Hasina says the upcoming February polls will be meaningless.
And then Y followed. She left the country to “prevent bloodshed,” but it seems the blood is still flowing. It’s an ongoing crisis with no clear end in sight….![]()
