Govardhan Puja, Balipratipada, and the Vikram Samvat New Year are celebrated across the country on this day. The BSE, NSE, MCX, and currency derivatives markets will remain closed today.

Previously, Muhurat trading was held on the occasion of Diwali on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm. This trading session is held every year on Diwali and marks the auspicious start of the Hindu New Year.

With the market closed today for Balipratipada, investors have had a nearly two-day trading break during the Diwali week. The stock market will reopen at its normal hours tomorrow, Thursday, October 23rd.
