School Holiday in September: Government released the school holiday calendar for the month of September

September 2025 School Holidays: The month of September brings with it joy and happiness. On the one hand, festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Puja and Eid spread enthusiasm in every home.

On the other hand, the calendar of holidays brings a smile on the faces of students. This break due to festivals between studies and homework is no less than a gift for the children. Let us know how many days the schools will remain closed in September.

This time also gives parents a chance to increase bonding with family and enjoy the festivities. This year, in September 2025, there are many special days when there will be holidays in schools. Somewhere there will be a festival and somewhere special days will be celebrated. In such a situation, it is important for students to know on which dates the classroom bell will not ring and when they will not have to go to school.

It is important to note here that the list of holidays may vary from state to state and region. The education department and school management of different states release the calendar as per their convenience. Therefore, students and parents are advised to check the official holiday list of their respective schools.

When will schools remain closed ?

• September 5 (Friday): Most schools across the country will remain closed on this day due to Teachers’ Day and Milad-un-Nabi.
• 17 September (Wednesday): Onam festival is celebrated especially in Kerala, hence there will be a holiday in schools here. Vishwakarma Puja is also celebrated on this day, hence there will be a holiday in many other states as well.
• September 21 (Sunday): Schools will remain closed in Telangana and parts of South India on account of Bathukamma festival.
• September 22 (Monday): Holiday in many states on the occasion of Mahalaya, as well as the beginning of Durga Puja and Navratri.
• September 29 (Monday): Schools will remain closed on the occasion of Saptami of Durga Puja.
• September 30 (Tuesday): There will be holiday for the second consecutive day on the occasion of Ashtami.

When will schools remain open ?

Hindi Day, Engineers Day, World Tourism Day, International Peace Day and many other international days will be celebrated in the month of September. But regular studies will continue in schools on these occasions, i.e. there will be no holidays on these days. In many states, schools will remain open even on Teachers Day. Programs are organized in schools on this day.
