If you are planning to go to Europe, then some important documents are required at the time of visa and booking. In such a situation, you should prepare in advance so that your application can be completed without any hassle. Some rules and necessary documents have been fixed by the government which all the passengers have to submit.

- Valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of exit from Europe).
- PAN card
Keep these things in mind for Schengen tourist visa of Europe
- All documents should be in A4 size. Do not staple any document.
- The passport should be new (not older than 10 years), it must be valid for 3 months even after the end of the journey. There should be at least two blank pages in the passport and attach the old passport as well.
- Handwritten passports, passports with 20 years validity and passports with observation are not valid.
- Fill the visa form online (which has a barcode page). Take a complete printout of the form and sign it. Do not fill the visa form with a pen. Just sign it. Fill the form on the computer and take a printout of it. Do not fill the visa form with a pen as there is a risk of mistakes and cutting.
- 2 recent colour photographs (35mm x 45mm size, 80% face visible). The photo should be on a white background.

- Documents as per business/job/other status
- Employed: Job certificate, NOC and salary slip of the last 3 months.
- Businessmen: Cover letter on company letterhead, company bank statement, ITR, registration proof etc.
- Students: NOC from school, report card and ID card.
- Retired person: Pension statement, proof of income from property or business.
- If travelling for honeymoon: Wedding card, certificate and wedding/engagement photos.
- If the child is travelling alone or with one parent, then notarized NOC from the other parent and a copy of the passport are required.
Also, if your Schengen visa has been rejected earlier, then give all that information in your form. Also give a covering letter, stating that you are going to Europe only for tourism.
