SBI will discontinue the ability to send and claim mCASH on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite after November 30, 2025. This means that after this date, customers will no longer be able to send money via mCASH without beneficiary registration, nor will they be able to claim the amount sent.

If you are a customer of State Bank of India (SBI), then this news is important for you. Actually, the bank has announced that it will stop the facility of sending and claiming mCASH on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite after November 30, 2025.

This means that after this date, customers will neither be able to send money through mCASH without beneficiary registration nor will they be able to claim the amount sent through mCASH link or app. In a message on its official website, the bank has said that customers should start using other safe and popular digital payment options in time. These include mediums like UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, which are currently considered to be the most reliable online fund transfer services across the country.

What is mCASH?

The mCASH facility was primarily used for quick payments, allowing money to be sent through a link without the need to register the beneficiary in advance. However, due to security concerns and the proliferation of new technologies, SBI is now phasing out this service. The bank has advised customers to immediately switch to alternative payment options to continue digital transactions without any hassle. Modes like UPI and IMPS facilitate instant payments, while NEFT and RTGS are considered safer options for large transactions.

How to use mCASH?

After downloading the SBI mCASH application from the Google Play Store, register your MPIN to log in. Using the registered MPIN, customers can log in to the SBI mCASH app. Using the passcode, transfer the claim amount sent by a State Bank customer to their account at any bank. Customers can set the account number and IFSC code as favorites for future claims.

State Bank of India mCASH allows recipients to claim funds sent by SBI customers through OnlineSBI or State Bank Anywhere. With this service, any SBI customer with internet banking can transfer money using only the recipient’s mobile number or email ID, without registering anyone as a beneficiary.
