SBI Credit Card : If you use SBI credit card then this news is important for you. SBI Card has changed its reward points program. These new rules will come into effect from September 1, 2025. After this change, cardholders will not get any reward points for spending on digital gaming platforms and government portals.

If SBI card customers purchase online gaming credits or make payments on any government portals with these cards, you will no longer get reward points.
Such changes have happened before
This is not the first time SBI Card has taken such a step. In December 2024 too, the company had discontinued the points received for spending on digital gaming platforms on some cards.
HDFC Bank had also taken such a decision
Before SBI, HDFC Bank had also implemented such a rule for its customers. In June 2025, HDFC announced that from July 1, 2025, reward points will not be available on online skill-based gaming transactions on any of its credit cards.
Important questions and answers related to reward points
Redemption Charges : Rs 99 + taxes will be charged for redeeming reward points.
No Registration Required: You do not need to do a new registration for online rewards redemption.
Delivery Address: Redeemed products will be delivered to the cardholder’s address only.
Outstanding Payments: You can also use your reward points to pay your SBI card dues, but only in multiples of 2,000 points.
Points Transfer: Reward points from different cards cannot be combined or transferred.
