When did the salary increase the most?
According to Verma, it is estimated that a salary hike of 30–34% is possible in the 8th Pay Commission. If this happens, it will be the biggest increment till date. The main focus of the commission is to cover inflation, reflect economic growth and give balanced salary to all sections. The 7th Pay Commission brought a big change by introducing pay matrix in place of grade-pay and the 6th Pay Commission also brought efficiency in administrative work by introducing pay band. The increased salary will provide better accommodation, health services and lifestyle to the employees.
If the increase is made keeping inflation in mind then the situation will improve
According to investment expert Amit Nigam, while the inflation rate is expected to remain between 6 to 7 percent in 2025 and the years ahead, an increase of more than 30 percent in salary can bring a big improvement in Actual Purchasing Power. In the past years, the income of employees has been lagging behind the pace of inflation. If this proposal comes into effect, not only will there be stability in the job but employees will also feel more financially empowered.
