Railways new rules: Recently Indian Railways has announced many important changes in the Tatkal ticket system. Under the new change, passengers will be required to do Aadhaar verification for Tatkal ticket booking from July 1. At the same time, Aadhaar based OTP verification will be mandatory for online booking from July 15. Apart from this, agents will also have to wait for Tatkal ticket booking. Now common people will be able to book Tatkal tickets easily as compared to agents. Let us know from what time you will be able to do Tatkal booking?

From when will you be able to book

Authorized agents will not be able to book tickets for the first 30 minutes of opening of Tatkal booking window. This rule will be applicable from 10 am to 10:30 am for AC class and from 11 am to 11:30 am for non-AC class. At the same time, common people will be able to do Tatkal booking for AC class from 10 am. If we talk about non-AC class, then you will be able to do Tatkal booking from 11 am. This means that the agent will be allowed to do the booking half an hour after the Tatkal window opens. Till now, the agent had control over Tatkal railway booking. Therefore, common people had to face a lot of difficulties.

Rules for booking from agent

From July 15, OTP verification sent on mobile number will be mandatory for Tatkal tickets booked through PRS counters and authorized agents. Let us tell you that these changes are being made to increase transparency in Tatkal ticket booking and to provide its benefits to real passengers. CRIS and IRCTC have been instructed to make necessary changes in the system and inform all the zonal railways and concerned departments. The Railway Ministry has appealed to the passengers to link their IRCTC profile with Aadhaar, so that there is no problem in future.
