Diwali and Chhath Festival: Major changes have been made at Jaipur Railway Station this year in view of Diwali and Chhath. This is the first time that, to control the crowds, the National Railway (NWR) has stopped passengers outside the station at Jaipur Junction.
Now, only those whose train is within 15 to 20 minutes of departure will be allowed to enter the station. Like every year, Jaipur Junction is witnessing a massive crowd due to the Diwali and Chhath festivals. Chhath festival will also follow immediately after Diwali. Therefore, drawing lessons from the past, the railway administration has taken additional steps to control crowding at Jaipur Junction. Passengers traveling from Jaipur Junction who arrive at the station 1-2 hours before their train’s departure will not be allowed inside. Platform ticket sales have been banned at Jaipur Junction.
Under the new arrangement, a large tent has been set up outside the junction for train passengers. Passengers can wait there for their trains. They can enter the railway station only when their train is scheduled. In view of Diwali and Chhath, all ongoing construction work at Jaipur Junction has been temporarily halted to avoid inconvenience to passengers due to civil works. Special care is also being taken to prevent any accidents due to the crowds.
Along with the RPF, Home Guards have also been deployed
This time, along with the RPF, Home Guards have also been deployed. Until October 28th, no family members will be able to enter the railway station to drop off their passengers. Now, only passengers will be allowed inside the railway station. The railway has made all these arrangements to prevent a stampede. Passengers are waiting for their trains in tents outside the railway station and are going inside when the time is right.
Crowd control is proving extremely difficult.
Although the railway management has made all necessary arrangements, the crowds are still swarming, making them extremely difficult to control. Everyone wants to reach their state, city, or village in time for the festival. It remains to be seen how well these arrangements will last until October 28th. Given the situation, the railway management is on full alert.
