Railway Reservation Closed Today: All the ticket booking apps of the Railways including IRCTC, Indian Railways’ Rail Connect app will not work tonight and till tomorrow morning.
Railway passengers having current reservation will not get the services of reservation, current ticket booking, internet ticket booking or enquiry etc. from Saturday night, 1st November to early morning on Sunday. Railways has announced to keep all the services closed for six hours. Due to the upgrade of the passenger reservation system of IRCTC and CRIS, the app based e-ticketing system of Railways will not work.
Indian Railways Railway Reservation Closed Today Railway passengers having current reservation of Indian Railways will face huge problem in availing railway services like train ticket reservation, current ticket booking, internet ticket booking and enquiry etc. from Saturday night till early morning on Sunday. The app based e-ticket system of the Railways will not work due to compression of PNR files and database files of Kolkata based IRCTC and CRIS passenger reservation system.
Regarding the closure of rail services, PRA Guddu Shah of the Malda Railway Division of Eastern Railway stated that due to the above work, train ticket reservations will be affected from 11:45 pm on Saturday, November 1st, to 5:30 am on Sunday, November 2nd. Passengers will be unable to avail of 139 services, including charting, current booking, and internet booking, for approximately six hours. During this time, all services, from ticket booking to enquiry, will not be available on IRCTC’s various railway apps.
Record sale of general tickets, 85 thousand bookings done
Bhagalpur: The rush in trains has increased after Chhath Puja. This can be estimated from the sale of general tickets. In three days, the number of general tickets has doubled. More than 85 thousand passengers are travelling in general coaches of long distance and passenger trains including Vikramshila Express, LTT, Ang Express, Farakka Express. 30 thousand general tickets were sold on Wednesday and 32 thousand on Thursday. Whereas, more than 22 thousand tickets are expected to be sold on Friday. According to railway officials, the exact information about the sale of general tickets will be known only after the final chart of Friday is prepared.
Generally, 15 to 18 thousand general tickets are sold.
Due to rain, there was less crowd in trains as compared to the last two days. But on two days, Wednesday and Thursday, record number of general tickets were sold. 62 thousand general tickets were sold in two days. Whereas usually 15 to 18 thousand general tickets are booked every day at Bhagalpur station. But due to increase in crowd after Chhath, sale of tickets has also increased. However, there has been no significant impact on the sale of tickets at other stations including Ajaibinath Dham (Sultanganj), Kahalgaon. There is no such crowd at Jamalpur station also.
25 railway officials including ADRM were deployed.
Railway officials say that people from all over come here, and therefore, the crowds are becoming quite large. For this reason, over 25 officers and personnel from the Malda Division, including ADRM Shiv Prasad Kumar, DPO Sachin Kumar, Senior DCM Anjan, RPF Commandant Asim Kumar Kullu, Station Director Utpal Sharma, Area Officer, and Station Superintendent, have been deployed to control the crowd.
Delhi-bound Vikramshila Express is packed with people.
Here, on Friday, the general bogies of Vikramshila Express were jam packed. More than a thousand people boarded the general coaches in six general bogies. A long queue of people had formed since 6 am to get a seat in the train. Under tight security arrangements, passengers were boarded one by one through numbering system. ADRM, Malda Shiv Prasad Kumar said that there has been a record sale of general tickets in three days. About 85 thousand general tickets have been sold. Due to continuous rain, there was less crowd on Friday as compared to Thursday. But the general bogies of Vikramshila Express were more crowded today as compared to Thursday. More than a thousand people were boarded.
