Public Holiday: Govt has declared Holiday in This State on Monday, see notification

The 531st Parkash Purb of Baba Sri Chand Ji Maharaj, the eldest son of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, is being celebrated on Monday, September 1.

On this occasion, the Punjab Government has declared a reserved holiday in the state. Let us clarify here that September 1 is not a gazetted holiday but a reserved holiday due to which schools and colleges will remain open as usual on this day.

The holiday of September 1 is also included in the list of reserved holidays issued by the Punjab government. This list includes a total of 28 holidays and government employees can take any 2 of them. There has also been a demand to declare a local holiday in Gurdaspur district on the occasion of the 531st Parkash Purb of Baba Shri Chand Ji Maharaj, but so far no statement has been made by the administration in this regard.
