Postal Department Hikes Speed Post Charges: Full Details Inside

The new charges for Inland Speed ​​Post will be effective from October 1, 2025. The new charges for speed post up to 50 grams in local areas will be ₹19. Items weighing between 50 grams and 250 grams will be charged ₹24, and items weighing between 250 and 500 grams will be charged ₹28.

The Postal Department has announced changes to the charges for sending documents via Speed ​​Post. The new rates will come into effect on Wednesday, October 1st. Under this, you’ll now have to pay more than before. The Postal Department has also added some new features, including OTP-based delivery, real-time tracking, and online booking.

Up to Rs 28 will be charged for sending goods up to 50 grams.

The new charges for Inland Speed ​​Post will be effective from October 1, 2025. The new charges for Speed ​​Post up to 50 grams in local areas will be Rs 19. Rs 24 will be charged for goods weighing from 50 grams to 250 grams and Rs 28 will be charged for goods weighing more than 250 to 500 grams. Agency

For a distance of more than 200 km, you will have to pay up to Rs 93.

The charges will also increase with the increase in the distance. For a distance of 200 km to 2000 km, Rs 47 will be charged for sending goods up to 50 grams. If the weight increases from 51 grams to 250 grams, then a charge of Rs 59 to 77 will be levied for the same distance. Whereas, for goods weighing from 251 to 500 grams, a charge of Rs 70 to 90 will be levied. Goods and Services Tax (GST) will also be applicable on this.

10% Discount for Students

To increase the reach of Speed ​​Post services to students, a 10% discount on Speed ​​Post charges has been introduced. Customers can also send Speed ​​Post deliveries through the Registration Service. By availing this service, both documents and parcels can be sent securely to the recipient. Under this service, the delivery of goods will be made only to the recipient or the person authorized by the recipient. A fee of Rs. 5 per Speed ​​Post item plus GST will be charged for this. Similarly, for ‘One-Time Password Delivery’ service, a fee of Rs. 5 per Speed ​​Post item plus GST will be charged.
