Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana through video conferencing on September 26 at 11 am. During the event, Prime Minister Modi will directly transfer the first installment of ₹10,000 into the bank accounts of 7.5 million women. A total of ₹7,500 crore will be disbursed to women under this scheme.

Additionally, after six months, the government will provide additional financial assistance of up to ₹2 lakh after reviewing their work and progress. This means that a female beneficiary will receive a total financial assistance of up to ₹210,000.

The objective of this scheme is to empower women and promote self-employment. Financial assistance is provided to one woman from each family in the state. This scheme will benefit only those women who are members of a livelihood Self-Help Group (SHG). The annual income of the beneficiary woman or her husband should not be in the income tax bracket, i.e., should not be less than ₹5 lakh.

Only one woman per family can avail the benefit of this scheme. This financial assistance will be provided to 7.5 million women of Bihar so that they can start a career of their choice. The first installment will be ₹10,000. An amount of up to ₹2 lakh is proposed under this scheme, which will be distributed in phases.

How to Apply: Both online and offline options available

The application process for the Women Employment Scheme has been simplified and made easy to ensure that more women can benefit from it. Women from rural areas can apply directly through their village organization or Jeevika group. A group representative will assist them in filling the form and submitting documents. Women from urban areas can apply online by visiting the official website of Jeevika. In the online application process, scanned copies of the required documents should be uploaded after filling the form.
