PM Modi to Inaugurate Purnia Airport- Date Officially Announced

Purnea Airport: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Bihar next week, where he will inaugurate the new airport in Purnea. Along with inaugurating the Purnea airport, PM Modi will also launch development projects worth about Rs 45,000 crore.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who came to Purnea to review the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, gave this information on Wednesday. He said that Prime Minister Modi will announce the opening of the airport for regular flights in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. According to Chaudhary, the people of the area had been demanding this for a long time. The runway of Purnea airport will be the largest runway in Bihar.

Bihar will get its fourth airport

Purnia airport will be the fourth airport in the state after Patna, Gayaji and Darbhanga. Airline company IndiGo has said that it will operate three flights a week between Purnia and Kolkata. The deputy chief minister said that Purnia is adjacent to the border of Nepal and is not very far from Bangladesh. Choudhary said, “It can become an international airport. I recently requested the Union Civil Aviation Minister to consider opening Darbhanga and Purnia for international flights. At present, our priority is to equip the new airports with all other facilities including night landing facility, so that it can become a comfortable destination for air travellers from across the country.”

Development projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore have been started in Bihar so far

Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary said the Prime Minister has so far launched development projects worth about Rs 1.5 lakh crore in Bihar and he will also unveil projects worth about Rs 45,000 crore from Purnia. Samrat Choudhary said these include railway-related projects as well as a power plant at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district and the Kosi-Mechi river linking project. He said, “This double engine will be a gift from the government to the people of Bihar.”
