EPFO can soon deposit interest amount in your PF account. At present, PF is getting annual interest at the rate of 8.1 percent. However, if your accounts are not merged, you may incur a loss on interest.

New Delhi. You can get good news from EPFO soon. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to deposit annual interest on the accumulated amount in your account during the festival season. In such a situation, if you want to get more interest, then you should merge all your accounts. That is, if you had worked somewhere before where you are working now, then add that account and the existing account together.

In today’s era people are changing their jobs very fast. In the new company, without changing the UAN number, the PF account remains active but the money from the previous account is not able to be added to the new account. Due to this, the account holder suffers a loss at the time of getting interest. Therefore it is important that you merge the previous accounts by visiting the EPFO website or else you will get less interest. The government is currently paying 8.1 percent annual interest on the PF account.

UAN has to be activated

If you want to merge the account but your UAN is not activated then first you have to do the same thing. For this, you have to go to the official website of EPFO and click on Activate UAN Tap. After this you will enter UAN number, date of birth and your mobile number. After these steps an authorization pin will be generated. After entering this PIN, your UAN will be activated.

How to merge PF account?

  • To merge the old and existing account of PF, you have to go to its official website of EPFO.
  • After this, going to Services, click on One Employee-One EPF Account.
  • After this a form will open through which EPF accounts will be merged.
  • Enter your registered mobile number here.
  • After this, enter the UAN and your existing EPF account ID.
  • After giving such details, you will get an OTP on the mobile.
