Pensioners Alert: If you or a senior citizen in your household receives a pension, this news is very important. For many senior citizens, their pension is their lifelong financial lifeline, covering medical expenses, groceries, and other daily expenses. However, sometimes, due to minor errors or lack of information, pensions are suddenly stopped. The most common reason is not submitting a life certificate on time.
Do this important work between November 1 and November 30
Like every year, submitting a life certificate is essential to continue your pension. If you don’t submit this certificate between November 1st and November 30th, your pension could be stopped. Many people’s pensions are stopped simply because they can’t complete this task on time or because they don’t understand the process. However, the government has now made this process so easy that you can do it from home, using your mobile phone.
Now the hassle of going to the bank is over, submit your Life Certificate online.
Previously, pensioners had to go to banks or government offices and stand in long lines, but now that’s no longer necessary. The government has simplified this process. Through the Jeevan Pramaan App, the government has made this process completely digital. You can send your Life Certificate from home using your mobile or laptop.
To do this, simply download the Jeevan Pramaan App and verify it using Aadhaar-based face or fingerprint authentication. Your Digital Life Certificate will be submitted within minutes. Senior citizens who have difficulty processing online can also get this done at home with the help of a post office agent.
What documents will be required
Apart from the Life Certificate, some important documents will also have to be kept, such as:
- Age proof: Aadhar card, Voter ID, Birth certificate or 10th mark sheet
- Address and bank details: Passbook, account number, IFSC code
- Income declaration and Pension Payment Order (PPO) number
Failure to submit these documents on time could result in a disruption in your pension. Therefore, it’s crucial to keep all documents updated on time.
Special facility for pensioners above 80 years of age
The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has directed banks to provide the facility of home submission of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) to pensioners above 80 years of age. Both banks and post offices are now providing this facility through home service, so that super senior citizens do not have to stand in queues and get their pension on time.
EPFO also made the method easier
The EPFO has also digitalized the entire process for pensioners. Now, EPFO members can submit their Life Certificates by scanning their faces using their mobile phones.
