Parliament Secretariat said on Thursday that the monsoon session of Parliament will start from July 18 and will continue till August 12. There will be 18 sittings in this session of Parliament and it will probably be the last meeting in the current Parliament building.
President’s election will be held on the first day of the session
The election for the post of President of India will be held on the first day of the monsoon session, followed by counting of votes on July 21. The new President will be administered the oath of office on July 25 in the Central Hall of Parliament.
The election for the post of Vice President will be held on 6 August and he will assume office on 11 August.
