Bhopal, State Bureau. One Nation-One Ration Card system may be applicable in Madhya Pradesh from December. After this, more than five and a half crore beneficiaries of public distribution system can take wheat, rice and salt from any ration shop at a concession rate. On going to work in other states, they will get this facility there too. For this, more than four crore beneficiaries have been registered with Aadhaar number in the state. Every day about one lakh beneficiaries are being registered. It also includes migrant workers.

More than four crore beneficiaries registered with Aadhaar number

According to the census of 2011 through 25 thousand 490 ration shops in the state, wheat and rice are being provided to one crore 11 lakh families i.e. more than 50 million to 6 lakh beneficiaries at the rate of Re 1 kg. Under the National Food Security Act, 75 percent of the total population of the state comes under food security. However, this number is more than this. Regarding this, the state government is also constantly demanding from the central government to increase the quota.

In fact, due to the quota being fixed, about eight lakh 82 thousand families are still deprived of subsidized ration. During the lockdown, the state government gave a three-month ration to these families free of cost. Now the government has decided that an eligibility slip will be issued to all these families. Sources say that these will also be included in the One Nation-One Ration Card scheme. For this, survey work is going on in rural areas.
