Oil companies urge consumers to replace the pipe connecting the cooking gas cylinder and stove every five years. They say that replacing the pipe every five years prevents leakage. The pipes sold at oil companies’ agencies are very strong. In light of the recent incidents of pipe leakage, oil companies are constantly raising awareness among consumers.
A new system has been created to ensure oil companies keep a record of pipe replacements. Customers purchasing pipes from the agency will have their connection number recorded. This will indicate when the customer installed the new pipe. In the future, this system may also be used to send messages to customers’ registered mobile phones. Similarly, regulators can also be purchased based on the connection number.
Ravi Chanderia, Deputy General Manager of Indian Oil, said that it is mandatory to replace cooking gas pipes every five years. This is very important for safety. Company officials and all distributors are continuously raising awareness among customers.
