Muhurat trading 2025 Date and Time: The leading domestic stock market exchange NSE (National Stock Exchange) on Monday announced the date and time of Muhurat trading to be held this year.
NSE said that they will organize a special Muhurat trading session on Tuesday, October 21, on the festival of Diwali this year. The stock market exchange said in a circular that this symbolic trading session will last for 1 hour, which will start from 1:45 pm and will end at 2:45 pm. Let us tell you that last year in 2024, the Muhurat trading session was organized from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
The pre-opening session will begin at 1:30 PM on October 21.
This new trading session also marks the beginning of a new Samvat (Vikram Samvat 2082), which begins with Diwali. It is believed that trading during the ‘Muhurat’ or auspicious time brings prosperity and financial growth to investors. It is worth noting that as per the tradition in the Indian stock market, the markets remain closed on Diwali. However, on this special occasion, the markets open for one hour for a special Muhurat trading session. In its circular, NSE stated that on Tuesday, October 21, the market will pre-open at 1:30 pm under Capital Market (Equity), and trading will commence at 1:45 pm and will continue till 2:45 pm.
When will trading in currency derivatives, futures and options begin?
Market experts note that Diwali is considered an auspicious occasion for starting new businesses, and many investors believe that participating in the Muhurat trading session brings prosperity throughout the year. It should be noted that on Tuesday, October 21st, the capital markets (equities), along with currency derivatives, futures and options, and emerging markets, will be open from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm, and during this hour, traders will be able to trade as usual. It should be noted that both the NSE and BSE exchanges choose the same time for Muhurat trading. Therefore, the Muhurat trading session will also be held on the BSE during this time.
