Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already launched e-Rupee, the country’s first Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), in response to the demands of the digital age. It is an electronic version of physical notes that operates on a digital platform while preserving the value of the rupee.
According to ET Now Digital, the RBI has taken a major step in this direction. The e-Rupee facility is now available.
CBDC and UPI will be given on phone numbers without ID.
