Nissan is aggressively ramping up its India portfolio, and the next big reveal is locked in. That happened. The company’s all-new compact MPV, which is essentially a badge-engineered sibling to the Renault Triber, is set for its global unveiling on December 18, 2025.

This marks Nissan’s entry into the budget-friendly MPV segment and is only the third model in their lineup after the Magnite and X-Trail. This MPV is expected to hit showrooms early in 2026.

Shared DNA, Distinct Look

The thing is, this new MPV leverages the strengths of the Renault-Nissan alliance.

  • Platform: It shares the versatile CMF-A platform with the Renault Triber. This gives it a sub-4-metre footprint, which is key for tax benefits, and provides that seven-seat versatility that budget-conscious families need.

  • Design Separation: While it shares underpinnings, Nissan is working extensively on giving it a distinct visual identity. Spy shots confirm an upright and assertive front end with a redesigned grille and new headlamp clusters. Functional roof rails and unique alloy wheel designs should further differentiate it from the Triber.

Interiors and Mechanics

Inside, practicality is the priority. The MPV will retain the Triber’s clever three-row layout, offering 5-, 6- or 7-seat configurations.

The Bigger Picture

This MPV is just the first step in a major product offensive for Nissan in India, those too.

  • Q1 2026: Launch of this new sub-4-metre MPV.

  • Mid-2026: Launch of a new mid-size SUV to challenge rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

  • Early 2027: Introduction of a larger seven-seat SUV.

Launch & Price: The price reveal is expected in early 2026, but the MPV is likely to start from around ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom). That would make it one of the most affordable seven-seaters available, directly rivalling the Renault Triber and, in some variants, the Maruti Ertiga.
