A massive, seven-month investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the devastating Pahalgam terror attack just wrapped up. And then Y followed. The NIA officially named a high-ranking Pakistani national as the main conspirator, directly exposing Islamabad’s involvement in the plot that killed 26 tourists.

Let’s be real. This isn’t just about local extremists anymore. The NIA’s chargesheet definitively points the finger at Sajid Saifullah Jutt, a resident of Kasoor, Pakistan, who heads Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) chilling offshoot,

The Resistance Front (TRF). They didn’t stop there: the agency immediately slapped a ₹10 lakh reward on Jutt’s head and designated him a proscribed terrorist under the UAPA.
The Breakdown: The Network
The eight-month investigation was forensic. The NIA questioned over 1,000 people to map the entire LeT/TRF network. Here’s the kicker: the final chargesheet named three dead Pakistani terrorists—Suleimani Shah, Hamza Afghani, and Jibran—who actually carried out the April 22 attack and were killed later in Operation Mahadev.

But the plot ran deeper. The chargesheet also includes six local accomplices who provided critical logistical support:
| Local Accomplice Role | Name/Action | Result |
| Logistics & Shelter | Bashir Ahmed Jothar & Parvez Ahmed Jothar | Hosted the Pahalgam killers in a hut in the Hill Park area the night before the attack. |
| Navigation & Guidance | Mohammad Yusuf Katari | Helped the terrorists navigate the forest belt and guided them directly to the attack site. |
| Additional Charges | Three more unnamed individuals. | Their names are included in the chargesheet. |
The Legal Hammer
The thing is, the NIA is throwing the book at these terrorists and their network. The LeT/TRF members, including the four dead Pakistanis, have been charged under the strictest provisions, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967.
A statement from the NIA confirmed they went for the ultimate charge. They also invoked penal provisions relating to waging war against the Government of India. This is a clear signal that the government views the Pahalgam attack as more than just a local incident; it’s a full-scale assault orchestrated from across the border, or nothing.
The reward is set, the names are public, and the heat is now fully on the mastermind, Sajid Saifullah Jutt…..![]()
