New Vande Bharat Train: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains and inaugurate the Yellow Line of Namma Metro during his Bengaluru visit today. Know their full details….

New Vande Bharat Train: PM Modi To Inaugurate 3 Vande Bharat Trains: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a one-day visit to Karnataka today. During this, PM Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru. These include trains from Bengaluru to Belgaum, Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune. After this, he will flag off the Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro and ride the metro from RV Road, Ragigudda to Electronic City Metro Station. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of urban connectivity projects in Bengaluru and address a public meeting.

Three new trains and their routes

KSR Bengaluru–Belgaum Vande Bharat Express – Major stops: Dharwad, Hubballi, Haveri, Davanagere, Tumkur and Yeshwantpur.

Nagpur (Ajni)–Pune Vande Bharat Express – Major stops: Wardha, Badnera, Shegaon, Akola, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar, Daund Chord Line.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar Vande Bharat Express – Major stops: Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City and Beas.

144 Vande Bharat trains are running

Currently 144 Vande Bharat train services are running across the country. This number will increase with the addition of these three new trains. So far, more than 6.3 crore passengers have experienced Vande Bharat Express. The operation of these trains will not only provide fast, comfortable and safe travel experience to the passengers, but it will also accelerate the pace of development in four major states of the country.

Equipped with modern facilities

The semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express, made with completely indigenous technology, is equipped with ‘Kavach’ system, which makes the journey more safe. It has foldable snack tables, mobile charging ports, comfortable seats, modern toilets and infotainment facilities. Every coach also has a GPS-based real-time tracking system, so that passengers can get information about the train’s speed, location and next station at all times.

Metro’s Yellow Line will have 16 stations

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Bengaluru Metro Phase-3 project costing more than Rs 15,610 crore. The total length of the project will be more than 44 km and it will have 31 elevated stations. At the same time, the 19.15 km long Namma Metro’s Yellow Line from RV Road to Bommasandra will have 16 stations and its construction cost is Rs 5,056.99 crore. This new line is part of Metro Phase-2 and will connect important residential, industrial and commercial areas, improving connectivity in Bengaluru’s busy tech and industrial corridor. With the opening of this line, the current metro network in Bengaluru will increase to more than 96 km, which will serve a large population of this region.
