PM Modi Vande Bharat launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
He inaugurated the new trains on the Varanasi-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. He inaugurated the new trains on the Varanasi-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes. Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister said these Vande Bharat trains will “enhance connectivity and provide greater convenience” for citizens.
“Trains like Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat and Amrit Bharat are laying the foundation for a new generation of Indian Railways,” PM Modi said in his address in Varanasi. He said infrastructure is a “key factor” in the economic growth of developed countries and India too is “moving rapidly” on the path of development.

Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat
The central government said in an official statement that the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat train will establish direct connectivity on this route and will save around two hours and 40 minutes compared to the special trains currently running.
The statement said the train will connect “some of India’s most important religious and cultural destinations,” including Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. It added that “this connectivity will not only boost religious and cultural tourism but also provide pilgrims and travelers with a fast, modern, and comfortable journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho.”

Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat
The central government said the Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat train will complete the journey in about seven hours and 45 minutes and will save about an hour in travel time.
The statement said the train will “significantly benefit” passengers from Lucknow, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Bijnor and Saharanpur and will also improve access to holy cities like Haridwar via Roorkee.
“This service will make travel between cities in the central and western parts of Uttar Pradesh faster and smoother, thereby improving both connectivity and regional development,” the government statement said.
Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat
The Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat will be the fastest train on the route, completing the journey in six hours and 40 minutes. The central government said it will strengthen connectivity between Delhi and major cities in Punjab, including Firozpur, Bathinda and Patiala.
“This train is expected to boost trade, tourism and employment opportunities, contribute to the socio-economic development of border areas and promote better integration with national markets.”

Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat
The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train service will reduce travel time by more than two hours, completing the journey in 8 hours and 40 minutes. The central government said it will connect major IT and commercial hubs and provide a “faster and more comfortable” travel option to professionals, students and tourists.
The central government further said that “the route will boost economic activities and tourism between Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, thereby promoting regional development and cooperation.”
