8th Pay Commission: Central government employees are eagerly awaiting the Eighth Pay Commission. Meanwhile, it is being said that the government may issue a notification regarding the Pay Commission in November. If this happens, the Pay Commission process will accelerate.

8th Pay Commission: Central government employees and pensioners are eagerly awaiting the 8th Pay Commission. Everyone is focused on the expected salary and pension increases following the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. Meanwhile, the central government is expected to make a new announcement regarding the 8th Pay Commission soon. It is hoped that the ongoing obstacles in the 8th Pay Commission process will be resolved. However, the government has not yet formed a committee or announced its members.

It is worth noting that the government approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission in January 2025, but an official notification has not yet been issued. Recently, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated in the Rajya Sabha that the notification regarding the commission is pending. He also stated that a final decision has not been taken, but preparations are underway.

Will the notification be issued in November?

Previously, it was said that the central government might issue the notification by Diwali. However, media reports now indicate that the central government may issue the notification in November. However, no official statement has yet been issued regarding this. As soon as the notification is issued, the commission’s chairman and members will be appointed. Experts believe that the government cannot take much time to draft the 8th Pay Commission, as the term of the 7th Pay Commission will end on December 31st. After this, the government will be forced to take necessary steps.

Learn why the 8th Pay Commission is important?

In fact, the income of government employees and pensioners is determined every 10 years through a new Pay Commission. The 7th Pay Commission was the last one implemented. Now, the 8th Pay Commission is expected to provide significant benefits to employees in terms of basic salary, allowances, and pensions.

These allowances may be abolished in the 8th Pay Commission.

It is anticipated that travel allowances, special duty allowances, minor regional allowances, and some departmental allowances (such as the long-standing typing/clerical allowance) may be eliminated in the 8th Pay Commission. However, no official statement has yet been issued regarding this. The government’s goal is to make the salary structure “logical and simple” this time as well.
