New Toll Tax Policy: A new toll tax policy is going to be implemented in the country from August 15. Under this scheme, drivers will get the exemption of making 200 trips for just Rs 3000.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement regarding toll tax. Making a historic announcement, Gadkari has said that from August 15, 2025, FASTag pass will start being made for the whole year. With this pass, one can travel more than 200 times within a year for Rs 3000. Nitin Gadkari had indicated a day earlier that a big relief can be given to drivers across the country.
After the implementation of this new scheme, the long lines at the toll booth will be reduced. Also, there will be ease in transactions and drivers will save a lot. According to Nitin Gadkari’s tweet, this policy will also end the disputes going on regarding the toll booth and people will experience smooth travel.
What is the scheme, who will get the benefit?
According to the new toll policy, non-commercial vehicles will be able to recharge FASTag of Rs 3000 in a year. The validity of this amount will be for 1 year and the driver will be able to make 200 journeys. Currently, only non-commercial private vehicles have been kept under this scheme. Commercial vehicles will not get the benefit of this scheme. This scheme will be launched on August 15, 2025. This annual pass will get rid of the problem of stopping repeatedly at the toll booth. Along with this, a lot of money of the drivers will also be saved.

How will the recharge be done?
Right now we can recharge FASTag from any UPI platform. We have the option to recharge from Rs 100 to Rs 3000. But to pay for this annual pass, you will have to download the App in the mobile. You can easily get this pass through Rajmarg Yatra App. Apart from this, you will also be able to make payment from the official website of NHAI / MoRTH. A link will be provided on these websites.
How much travel in Rs 3000?
- Under the new toll tax policy, 200 journeys can be made in a pass of Rs 3000
- The validity of this card will be up to one year after recharging
These people will be benefited
This toll policy will especially benefit those whose houses or farms are near the highway. They have to cross the toll booth several times a day, which is very heavy on the pocket. According to this policy, the dispute situation that often arises in the payment of toll within a radius of 60 kilometers will be resolved. They will be allowed to cross the toll tax 200 times a year.
Will everyone have to get a pass?
However, it is not yet clear whether all drivers will have to get an annual pass for FASTag? It is believed that this facility will be optional because there are lakhs of vehicles whose annual expenditure is less than Rs 3000.
